I remember watching the First 48: Missing Persons edition. I imagine anyone would feel helpless, not knowing the whereabouts and condition of their loved one. For some, as the years pass they lose hope, while others believe that they will one day return home. I’d like to believe the latter and never lose hope.

A 6-year-old daughter was abducted from her father in Smryna, GA in 2021. The daughter was returned to the father this week after an investigation took place in Mexico. The mother did not have the custodial right to take the child. This case hits close to home for the father because the mother took the child. For other victims, they captors are unknown.

Another case is out of Glendale, Arizona where a now 18-year-old girl went missing four years ago. Alicia Navarro has returned home healthy and safe. It is believed the minor was lured away. Alicia was described by the police as a high functioning autistic teen. Four years is a long time to leave your family without a trace.

People go missing every day. It is easy to not pay attention to amber alerts or missing person reports because no one in your family or friend circle has turned up missing. It is important to keep your eyes open and pay attention to your surroundings. Human trafficking is at an all-time high. Humans are being moved around the earth right under our noses as sexual property and even for the sale of body parts.

Cedric Morgan, a morgue manager for Harvard Medical School was accused of selling stolen body parts online. Although Cedric Morgan is not responsible for abducting anyone, this case proves that some individuals have a desire for human body parts. There are buyers amongst us who are willing to buy human body parts. Some people are being abducted and murdered for their body parts to be sold on the black market.

Currently more than 64,000 black women remain missing across the United States.
